Privacy Policy

Ringside Radar is a pro wrestling app for finding shows, following wrestlers and promotions, and tracking rankings. It is made by Charlie Cook (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app does with information about you.
Location
If you allow it, the app reads your phone’s location while you are using it. It uses that location for two things:
- showing wrestling shows near you and how far away they are, and
- confirming you are inside the venue when you check in to a show for a passport stamp.
Your location is used only on your phone. It is not sent to us or to anyone else, and the app never reads your location in the background. You can say no or turn location off at any time in your phone’s settings and pick a city by hand instead.
Accounts (optional)
Signing in is optional. If you sign in, we collect and store:
- Your email address, used only to send you sign-in codes. It is never shown to other fans and never used for marketing.
- Your public profile: the username you choose, and if you add them, a profile photo, a short bio and a home area. Other fans see these on leaderboards, groups and your profile page.
- Your passport: points, number of shows and your stamps (which shows you checked in to, the promotion, date and city). Points and show counts are public on leaderboards. Your stamps are visible on your profile unless you turn on Hide my stamps; with Private profile on, only fans you follow can see your bio and stamps.
- Social activity: fans you follow and block, groups you create or join, shows you mark Going or Interested (shown to others only as totals), match star ratings (shown only as averages), reviews and comments you post (public, with your username), and your fan-poll ballot (counted only in totals).
- Match results you send from shows you checked in to. When at least three fans report the same result it is shown as fan-confirmed, without names attached.
- Ranking criteria you set, so they follow you to another phone.
- Reports and corrections you send, which only we can see.
- Wrestler and promoter accounts: if you claim or create a wrestler profile or claim a promotion, the social account you named and the verification code, your role and contact email (promoters), and everything you add: bio details, links, booking contact (shown only to the people you choose), open dates, photos, posters, show listings, cards and results. We also count how many times a wrestler’s page is viewed (just a daily number, not who viewed it) and how many signed-in fans follow them, and show those numbers to that wrestler.
- Photos you upload (profile photos, wrestler photos, show posters). The app shrinks them on your phone first. They are public.
Account data and uploaded photos are stored with our database provider, Supabase, on servers in the United States, and are sent over encrypted connections. Sign-in emails are sent through Google’s Gmail service from our support address.
Notifications
If you turn on notifications, the app schedules reminders and alerts on your phone (show-day reminders, TV reminders, and alerts when someone you follow is booked nearby). They are worked out on your phone; no push token or notification data is sent to us.
Calendar and photos access
“Add to calendar” opens your phone’s own calendar screen with the show filled in; the app doesn’t read your calendar. When you pick a photo, the app gets only the photo you choose, through your phone’s photo picker.
Deleting your account
In the app, go to Me → Settings → Account → Delete my account. This immediately and permanently deletes your login, email address, profile, photo, stamps backup, follows, group memberships, Going/Interested marks, ratings, reviews, comments, poll ballot, reports, wrestler or promoter account and the results you sent. Shows and results a promoter posted stay listed without your account attached. Fan-confirmed results that other fans also reported stay, with no link to you. If you can’t get into the app, email [email protected] from the address you signed up with and we will delete your account within 30 days. More details: delete your account.
The website
The website at ringsideradar.com works like the app in your web browser, and everything in this policy applies to it too. What the app saves on your phone, the website saves in your browser on that device (its local storage); clearing your browser's site data deletes it. If you allow it, your browser shares your location with the page only to find shows near you and to confirm check-ins; it isn't sent to us. The website uses no ads, no analytics and no tracking cookies. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which, like any web host, receives your IP address when you load a page (see Cloudflare's privacy policy).
Information stored on your phone
The app saves your settings on your phone so they are there next time: the wrestlers and promotions you follow, your alert and notification settings, saved searches, your city and show radius, your passport stamps and points, and your app theme. This information is not uploaded, except what’s listed under Accounts if you sign in. (If you sign in, the list of wrestlers you follow is also stored so wrestlers can see a follower count.) Deleting the app deletes it.
Show data and photos
To stay up to date, the app downloads a public data file of shows, results and rankings from GitHub (raw.githubusercontent.com). Wrestler photos are free-licensed images from Wikimedia Commons, credited on each wrestler’s page, and are loaded from our site on GitHub Pages (github.io). Like any website, GitHub receives your phone’s IP address when these files are downloaded; see GitHub’s privacy statement. The app does not send any of your information with these requests.
When you email us
If you ask us to add a promotion, send a correction while signed out, or tap “Contact us”, the app opens your own email app with a message to [email protected]. Nothing is sent unless you send that email yourself. We use it only to reply to you, and we delete it on request.
Ticket, share and other links
Ticket buttons and other links open websites run by promotions, ticket sellers and TV services. Those sites have their own privacy policies. Some ticket links may include a referral code so Ringside Radar earns a small commission; it doesn’t change your price. Share links point to pages on our GitHub Pages site.
What we don’t do
- No advertising, and no advertising or tracking IDs.
- No analytics or crash-reporting services.
- We don’t sell or share your information, and we don’t use it for anything except running the features described here.
Children
Ringside Radar is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
Your choices
You can use the app without signing in, turn off location access in your phone’s settings, make your profile private or hide your stamps from Me → Settings → Profile and privacy, change your username or delete your account from Me → Settings → Account, reset the app’s saved data from Me → Settings, or delete the app. To ask about your data, write to [email protected].
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
